Forgebanks Beagles To see our Beagles check out their own website!http://www.forgebanksbeagles.zoomshare.com/ Also see Forgebanks Kinsman at Crufts 2009 video - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q22TwHmsc28 As well as Beagles, we have three Border Collies, two pedigree and one rescue who my husbans competes with in Agility. As a family, we have been competing for several years and, believe it or not, the agility started with a Beagle! His name was Dumpy and he had a real enthusiasm for it, and was consistantly placed after LOTS of training. So we had experience with Beagles, both in the Show Ring and the world of Agility but we were still very much novices. After we lost Dumpy, we tried our hand at training another Beagle but we weren't as successful. It was decided that we should get a Border Collie. Collies are known for their intelligence, speed and agility; somewhat different from Beagles. Along came Touchango Beau aka Beau (Nov 1996-June 2007), who was a brilliant dog achieveing the level of Senior at just 20 months. Beau's accolades include: Winning out of starters at his first show - aged 18 months - with a 1st in starters jumping and a 2nd in starters agility. Qualified for the Royal Veterinary College Starters Agility Dog final which he won. Achieved 5 Novice wins to win into senior level aged 20 months. Since becoming advanced Beau had numerous wins and places including 7 intermediate wins, 2 open and 5 senior wins. Qualified for Dogs In Need / Pedigree Novice classic final 1998. Qualified for Pascoe's Novice Agility final 1998. Qualified for Supadog Ultimate Agility Stakes finals 1999, 2000. Qualified for the Pedigree Olympia semi finals 2000. Was a member of the team that won the Crufts Agility Team Final 2001. Qualified for the Dogs In Need Over 12 Junior final in 2003 with Michael's daughter Danielle.
Beau (left), Ace (centre), Bryn (right) Mike decided one Collie was not enough....then came Touchango Jester Minute aka Bryn. Bryn has a very good sense of humour and rarely takes anything seriously. He is such a good natured dog and loves everyone. He reached Senior level very quickly and now enjoys lazing about the house. In 2006 Acedlavista aka Ace joined the gang. Mike decided he would like to try Agility with a rescue dog and so far he has made good progress with him. His first excellent win was at a WAG show last year where he was placed 3rd Grade 3. I am sure he is a Beagle In Disguise because he shares so many of their mannerisms! More updates on him as his Agility career continues. Ace has been consistantly placed!
January 12th 2008....the house was bombarded by a fluffy puppy called Aussie! Katajack Snow Joke is the most recent addition to the family and is the oddball - the only blue merle in the gang! Aussie has a lovely temperament, is very friendly and also loves everyone. Agility training has begun with basic obedience being picked up very quickly. Obstacles however are a challenge, Aussie prefers to make friends with the other dogs rather than go over jumps! Still it's all fun!!
